State Road 9A North Closing Tonight for 9B Work

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- If you've got to travel along State Road 9A over the next few days you may need to pick a different route.

The Florida Department of Transportation is planning to close the roadway between Philips Highway (US 1) and Baymeadows road starting at 11 p.m. tonight.

It'll be closed through 5 a.m. Wednesday to allow crews time to move construction equipment from the median of SR 9A to the median of the SR 9B construction site to the south of 9A.  That project is slated to be done in Fall 2012.

If you need to go north on SR 9A during that time period, you'll have to get off and take the detour from Southside Boulevard to Baymeadows Road and on back to SR 9A.

If you're headed south, your travel shouldn't be affected.
