JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There's little interest in early voting in the city's upcoming election that will be held on Tuesday, March 22.
So far 31,657 ballots have been cast when absentee votes are included.
Early voting wraps up this weekend at the ten different polling locations. This weekend the polling places are only open from noon to 4 p.m.
Early voting is held at 8 regional libraries and the downtown and Norwood Avenue locations of the Supervisor of Elections.
Thursday was the most active day in the city with 2,150 people casting their votes.
Voters are being asked to decide who should be the next mayor with six candidate names on the ballot and four write-in candidates. Several city council races are generating interest as well.
Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland is revising his projection on turnout for this election. He had previously predicted a turnout of 48-50%.
