Jaguars Assistant Coach Hosts Free Football Camp for Area High Schoolers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jaguars defensive line coach Joe Cullen is hosting a free two-day football camp for high school football offensive and defensive linemen this week.

The camp is being held on Monday and Tuesday at Atlantic Coast High School.  Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio spoke to the campers on Monday evening, and a few other professional and college coaches are on hand to help with the camp.  There are some former NFL players at the camp as well.

Cullen is in his second season with the Jaguars.  This is the first time he has hosted a free football camp in Jacksonville.  He spent three years with the Lions in Detroit, and that's where started hosting his "Big Men Camp."

During the 2010 season, the Jaguars defense got 26 sacks compared to 14 the year before.

New Records Released in Case of Foster Parent Licensed Despite Abusive Past

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.  --  A background check the Department of Children and Families did on one Jacksonville woman before it issued her licenses to operate a day care and be a foster parent did not reveal her abusive past, according to new DCF records.

DCF gave Annette Smith a license to operate a day care in 2001 and one to be a foster parent in 2004. But Smith was convicted of child abuse in 1991, which according to DCF's foster care checklist is a disqualifier.

According to DCF, it did a background check on Smith. Documents  just released from the agency are partially redacted, but a check done by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement only shows Smith's 1992 and 1993 DUI arrests and convictions. DUI is not a disqualifier.

Is a Teen Paint Party Too Risque?

Is a Teen Paint Party Too Risque?

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Paint parties have been popular with college kids for years, but now local promoters are marketing them to teens.

A company called "TeenGlow" will host the first even teenage paint party on June 12th, and some First Coast parents don't like the idea.

"Who is really going to know what's going on behind those closed doors," asked Todd Moline, a concerned father.

He did some research about the paint parties after his 16-year-old daughter posted online about the one coming up here in Jacksonville.

"It's just too young, too young to be in that type of atmosphere. It's almost like a rave type atmosphere, bringing them in to the bar scene," said Moline.

Looking through the pictures posted on the TeenGlow website, Moline says he was appalled they're marketing this type of party to teens.
