Wild Adventures Donates Hundreds of Toys to Local Toy Drive

Celebrating the season of giving, Wild Adventures Theme Park (WA) announced the park has donated hundreds of its toys to the Toy for Tots Marine Reserve Program and is extending the park’s toy drive through December 23.  In response to feedback from the charity that donations were down this year, the park has donated more than 200 toys in addition to the approximately 300 toys already donated by guests.  WA is giving park guests a chance to spread holiday cheer during a Wild Adventures Christmas.  WA encourages park guests to donate a new toy, valued at $10 or more, December 18 through December 23, and receive a FREE general admission with purchase of a regular general admission.   Admission must be used on the same day of purchase and is valid for the second day FREE.

Holiday Meal Makeovers

Holiday Meal Makeovers

With the holidays quickly approaching, at-home chefs everywhere are beginning to plan their menus. This year, The Fresh Market encourages foodies to think outside the recipe box by departing from tradition in favor of new flavors! The specialty grocer offers up some unique recipes for “Meal Makeovers” for your holiday feasts – unexpected flavors incorporated into traditional favorites.

New flavors from across the globe will liven up menus and allow for even more creativity in the kitchen. Taste buds are sure to enjoy Curried Sweet Potato Casserole, Truffled Mashed Potatoes and Lemon Dill Green Beans with Pine Nuts and Pecorino, a delicious alternative to traditional green bean casserole. While turkey is tried and true, shake up the menu by preparing an elegant Pork Crown Roast served with Couscous instead of traditional stuffing. Another holiday favorite is Whole Beef Tenderloin as it serves well with a wide range of interesting side dishes.

Alhambra to Open Patsy Cline Show on New Year's Eve!

On the heels of sell-out performances nationwide, one of the hottest stage shows in the country returns to the Alhambra Theatre & Dining – and opens on New Year’s Eve  -- with Americas favorite Patsy Cline tribute show, “A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline” starring Gail Bliss.   Independent recording artist, songwriter, musician and actress, Gail Bliss returns to the Alhambra as Patsy Cline.  Chosen from over 600 hopefuls in 1994 to originate the role of Patsy in the initial touring production of “A Closer Walk,” Gail has made a name for herself all over North America for her work in this role.  “A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline” is estate approved - one of only two select productions to be sanctioned by the Patsy Cline Estate managed by Charlie Dick, Patsy Cline's husband.  Dick said of Patsy, “she’s the best I’ve ever seen.”
