Gymnast Kerri Strug To Visit Jacksonville

Kerri Strug, 1996 Olympic team gold-medalist, will be in Jacksonville, Fla., Jan. 18-19, to promote the 2011 AT&T American Cup, an International Gymnastics Federation World Cup event that will be held March 5 at the Veterans Memorial Arena.

Blake Shelton, Josh Turner and Skillet Join Family Concert Series at Wild Adventures

Wild Adventures Theme Park (WA) announces the addition of three concerts to its 2011 family concert series.  2010 Country Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year Blake Shelton, multi-platinum country recording artist Josh Turner, and the Grammy nominated alternative band Skillet, are the latest artists to join WA’s all-star line-up.  Additional concerts will be announced prior to the park’s opening, Saturday March 12.

Gate River Run Entry Forms Now Available

The official Gate River Run entry forms and training schedules are now available for the 34th running of Jacksonville’s premier running tradition on Saturday, March 12, 2011, announced Race Director Doug Alred.  More than 20,000 people annually take to the streets in Jacksonville’s largest participatory sporting event, which includes four popular races through some of Jacksonville’s most scenic neighborhoods.  Gate River Run is the largest 15K in the country.

The Jacksonville Symphony Guild’s 2011 Designer Showhouse location has been announced at the Coxwell Estate, a 17-acre property located at 9433 Coxwell Lane in Jacksonville. The Showhouse will feature a variety of fundraising events to benefit the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. The theme of this year’s Showhouse is “Southern Grandeur” which typifies the expansive two-story residence that sits on a gated estate with entryway featuring a large, natural stone and nature-themed fountain with lawns, nature areas and natural streams.

The American Lung Association of Northeast Florida is pleased to announce the Third Annual Celebrity Waiter Luncheon, an exclusive fund raising event that will take place at Maggiano’s Little Italy in the St. John’s Town Center Friday, January 14, 2011, beginning at 11:30 a.m.  The luncheonwill feature celebrity waiters, such as Sheriff John Rutherford and State Attorney Angela Corey, serving a lavish lunch to guests, all to benefit the American Lung Association’s (ALA) Fight for Air Climb Jacksonville.
