Students at Twin Lakes Academy Middle will create origami paper cranes during their social studies classes in honor of those affected by the tragedy in Japan. The goal is to hang 1,000 paper cranes over the folktales/legends section of the school library.

Student Tiffany Nelson presented the idea remembering the story Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, and that according to the legend making 1,000 paper cranes makes wishes come true.

The National Junior Honor Society students will meet in the morning to kick-off the day’s work.
