JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Four Jacksonville men were arrested today after allegedly breaking into Twin Lakes Middle School on Point Meadows Drive.

Mayor's Communications Director Arrested on DUI Charge

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Communications Director for Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown is facing a DUI charge in Bradford County.

Jail records show Abel Harding was arrested Saturday near U.S. 301 by the Hampton Police Department. He was booked on a DUI charge late Saturday, then released early Sunday.

Hookah Bar Sued for Serving Minor Involved in Fatal Accident

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Ali Baba, a Jacksonville hookah bar, is being sued for serving an underage drinker who was involved in fatal car accident.

The crash happened just after midnight November 14, 2010.  Maida Sy, 19, had a 12:30 a.m. curfew.  Maida was on her way home and only minutes away when her car was hit, and she was killed.

Police arrested 20-year-old Robert Tofson.  He is charged with DUI and vehicular homicide.   

"Somebody knock(ed) on our door at four o'clock in the morning and the horrible thing is it's the policeman," said Nida Sy, Maida's mother.

Sy said her daughter was her best friend.  She said the 2010 Sandalwood High School graduate had big plans for her life.  She was studying to be a pharmacist.

18-year old Arrested for Stealing from 6 Cars

Tommie Stornes Jr. was arrested Tuesday after witnesses reported seeing him load stolen goods into a  vehicle and police found stolen property in his car.

Police were called to the Avistele Apartments on Creekfront Road where witnesses said they saw Stornes, 18, loading up a speaker box and two subwoofers into a Dodge Durango, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office report. They also saw him go into a vehicle and take a car battery.

Walmart Shopper Arrested for Eating While Shopping, Not Paying

JACKSONVILLE- Fla. --  Jacksonville police arrested a Walmart shopper after store clerks noticed he took food, started eating it while shopping and never paid for it.

Henry Legg, 45, of Albany, Ga., was arrested on Sunday at the store on Philips Highway.

Store clerks told police they followed Legg around the store and that he took food items and alcoholic beverages, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report.

The report says Legg took a cup of corn nuggets, a cup of chicken fried rice, a 6-pack of Mike's hard beer and a 4-pack of strawberry wine coolers.

Legg walked around the store eating and drinking the items, they said. They also told police that Legg opened packages of forks, cups, small honey mustard packets and a bottle of soy sauce, and used it on the food he was eating.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Candles and stuffed animals mark the spot on Haines and 31st streets where a young woman's body was found nearly a week ago.

Kalil McCoy's family says it's her, and they are planning the 19-year-old's funeral. The crime is unsolved.

"I worry about her safety," Alice Williams said of her 5-month-old niece she was holding in her arms.

Williams is from the area. She already worries about her little niece. And some say there is a good reason for that.

"Black women are being targeted by black men," said Mikhail Muhammed, Kalil McCoy's uncle.
