Foundation of the Personal Empowerment Center Food Drive

FINANCIAL DESIGN ASSOCIATES ORGANIZES FOOD DRIVE FOR FOUNDATION OF THE PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT CENTER

Jacksonville, FL, July 2011--Members of Financial Design Associates organized a successful food drive for Foundation of the Personal Empowerment Center's (FTPEC) food pantry. The donated items were presented to FTPEC on July 19, 2011 included over $300 worth of canned goods and baby products.

Financial Design Associates has been part of the Jacksonville community for over a decade and has a quarterly tradition of community service involvement with local non profits.

FTPEC provides education, services and communication skills needed to solve problems and resolve conflict. The programs they offer meet the spiritual, educational and social needs of individuals and families. The food drive will help fill their food pantry and feed local people in need.

FINANCIAL DESIGN ASSOCIATES TEAMS UP WITH HOPE HAVEN CHILDREN'S CLINIC FOR SUMMER CELEBRATION

Jacksonville, FL, July 2011--Financial Design Associates hosted a summer celebration for the after-school program of Hope Haven Children's Clinic and Family Center. On July 25, 2011, agents and staff of Financial Design Associates helped the Hope Haven children make a craft, sing karaoke and play summer games with approximately fifty children.

City Animal Shelter Needs Community Support to Win $100K, Offers $20 Adoptions

Thanks to more than 8,700 local animal lovers who voted for Animal Care & Protective Services (ACPS) during an online qualifying phase earlier this year, the city has won a spot in the 2011 ASPCA $100K Challenge, competing for grants from ASPCA totaling $300,000, including a top prize of $100,000.

The 2011 ASPCA $100K Challenge is a nationwide competition for animal shelters and their communities aiming to get more animals adopted or returned to their homes than ever before. Taking place from Aug. 1 to Oct. 31, ACPS will compete to find homes for more cats and dogs than it did during the same time period in 2011. Competing against 49 other shelters, ACPS’ goal is to save at least 300 more animals than last year.

The State Farm Youth Advisory Board is seeking Board Members to serve through 2013.

“Being on the State Farm Youth Advisory Board has allowed me to share my passion for service-learning with other highly motivated young people, and helped develop me as an individual,” said Erin Drake, a current Board member. “It’s enlightening to see a corporation that realizes the power youth can bring in creating long-lasting change.”

Hundreds Greet Jacksonville Sharks at JIA

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sharks are back in the River City as ArenaBowl XXIV champions. The team landed at the Jacksonville International Airport around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Hundreds of fans waited to greet them at the gate and erupted in cheers and applause when the team came into the terminal shortly before midnight.

Jacksonville Sharks Head Coach Les Moss tells First Coast News he was blown away by the show of support. "This is great," said Moss. "This is great for Jacksonville and obviously our franchise. These fans are the best in the league."
