Since opening the first location in 2005, Jacksonville Ashley Furniture HomeStores’ community support programs have  expanded, now working directly with Jacksonville-based organizations such as: A Hope to Dream, the Salvation Army (Northeast Florida Area Command), the Greater Jacksonville Area USO, and The Donna Foundation.

Continued community efforts through 2011 earned the First Coast area stores top honors as Jacksonville Ashley Furniture HomeStores Managing Member/CEO Howard Fineman accepted the 2011 Chairman's Award in Las Vegas.

"The Ashley Furniture HomeStore brand is based on four pillars: value, quality, style and selection," Fineman said in a news release. "But here in Jacksonville our team has a fifth pillar, which is giving back locally and that pillar defines who we are here in the marketplace."

The Ashley Furniture HomeStores were able to help area children, with nearly 150 beds given away. Fineman expressed pride for the A Hope to Dream program saying it is, "a cause the Ashley Furniture HomeStores can truly call their own.”

The Jacksonville Ashley Furniture HomeStores, in association with A Hope to Dream, also teamed up with the Salvation Army to distribute an additional 50 Beds for 50 Kids over the holiday season as well as participated in the Angel Tree and Adopt-A-Family programs.

The efforts continue in 2012, with the fight against breast cancer being a major focus.   The Jacksonville stores also support Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the American Cancer Society and this month's 26.2 with Donna National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer. "Our local efforts, combined with Ashley Corporate's support of our local efforts, has generated over $122,000 to date. And it is estimated that our team’s local support efforts will produce in excess of an additional $10,000 for this worthy cause during this month alone,” Fineman said.

As a result of winning the Chairman's Award, Fineman says his company will also be able to present Jacksonville's USO with a check for $5,000 later this month. Ashley Furniture HomeStores have been providing various forms of aid to military families since 2005, according to the company.
