St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation Announces Celebrity Chef for Food and Wine Tasting Event | Arts & Culture
Often hailed as the “Father of Wine Country Cuisine,” Chef John Ash will be featured St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation’s 10th anniversary Delicious Destinations Celebrity Chef by the Sea Champagne Reception and Luncheon on Thursday, September 8 at 11:30 am at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.
John Ash is a renowned chef, author, and food and wine educator. His restaurant, John Ash & Company, in Santa Rosa, California, uses local, seasonal ingredients to create dishes that complement the wines produced in the region. John has co-hosted a food and wine radio talk show for 23 years, and has also hosted his own TV show on the Food Network. He is an adjunct instructor at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in the Napa Valley, and was voted “Cooking School Teacher of the Year” by the International Association of Culinary Professionals in 2008. John has written three books including John Ash Cooking One-on-One: Private Lessons in Simple Contemporary Food from a Master Teacher, which won a 2005 James Beard award. From the Earth to the Table: John Ash’s Wine Country Cuisine was awarded the IACP award for Best American Cookbook and the Julia Child Cookbook of the Year.
The Celebrity Chef by the Sea Luncheon is part of St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation’s tenth annual Delicious Destinations — a three-day gourmet food and wine event held at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. A preview reception on Friday, September 9 is a unique opportunity for event sponsors to mingle with executive chefs from world-renowned resorts and restaurants while sampling the culinary masterpieces prepared by Executive Chef Hermann Muller of the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. On Saturday, September 10 all attendees will enjoy the ultimate in innovative and delectable cuisine prepared by guest Chefs including: Bernd Lembke, Henry Ball, Aaron Janus, Aaron Fuller and Anthony Servideo from Mar-a-Lago/Trump International; Thomas Tolxdorf from the Ritz Carlton-Amelia Island; Darin Sehnert from Mansion on Forsyth Park; Mitchell J. Pagan from Mariner Sands Country Club; Steve Mengel from the Greenbrier; Olivier de Busschere from Nikolai’s Roof; Karl Edlbauer from the Peabody Hotel; and Chef Hermann Muller of the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. To accompany the chef’s signature dishes, Southern Wine & Spirits of North Florida will provide exceptional wines from an assortment of select vineyards. The event also includes live and silent auctions as well as a drawing of unique wine-related items including catered dinners and weekend getaways.
Proceeds from the annual event benefit St. Vincent’s Community Health Outreach Ministries — programs and services that provide access to healthcare to underserved and uninsured children and families throughout Northeast Florida. These programs include St. Vincent’s Mobile Health Outreach and Mobile Mammography, School Nurse Program, Parish Nurse Ministry, Seton Center for Women and Infants Health and other community programs.

Reservations for Thursday’s Celebrity Chef by the Sea Reception and Luncheon are available for $100 per person or $1,000 for a table of ten. Individual reservations for the Saturday gala food and wine event are available for $250 per person. The Bon Appétit Sponsor at $600 per couple includes two reservations and a special program listing. The Epicure Sponsor at $1,200 per couple includes two reservations, a special program listing, and a room at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. Additional sponsorships are available from $2,500 to $50,000 and include the Friday evening Exclusive Chef’s Reception and Sponsor Party.
