Second Harvest North Florida has an opportunity to make a big dent in that need by participating in the “Fighting Hunger Together” program that Walmart is sponsoring. If Jacksonville finishes in the top 6, we will receive significant dollars, potentially $1 million, to gather and distribute more food. It will also move us closer to realizing our goal to end hunger in north Florida in the next five years!

As of Friday, Dec. 3, Jacksonville was ranked #7 and poised to move into the top six in the national rankings - one of the positions that will receive funding from Wal-Mart. Our city needs just 300 or so more votes to make this bold move and a proud statement for the ongoing battle against hunger in our part of the world.

RULES:  Across the country, millions of Americans lack access to an adequate supply of nutritious food. Together, we can do something about it.

Walmart has made a commitment to donate $2 billion by 2015 to the fight against hunger in America. This holiday, we're asking you to decide where $1.5 million should go.
