Community Conversation About School Reform in Jacksonville

As a follow-up to the recent release of education-reform documentary Waiting for Superman, the Jacksonville Public Education Fund is hosting a panel discussion with education leaders, followed by a community conversation to identify education reform priorities for the city.

The event will be held on Tuesday, November 9 at 6:00 p.m. in the conference center of the main branch of the Jacksonville Public Library, 303 N. Laura Street.

The panel discussion will feature a candid discussion between the following participants:

  • Ed Pratt-Dannals, Superintendent
  • Terrie Brady, Duval Teachers United President
  • Brenda Priestly-Jackson, School Board Chair
  • John Baker, KIPP Chair
  • Gary Chartrand, JPEF Chair
  • Zachary Champagne, DCPS Teacher of the Year

The forum will be moderated by Frank Denton, editor of the Florida Times-Union, and will feature questions selected by the Jacksonville Public Education Fund. Audience members will also have an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates at the event.
