674 Children in Need of Holiday Gifts

Episcopal Children’s Services is launching its annual Holiday Outreach program this week. With the help of the community, the program will provide 674 children and families in Clay, Baker, Bradford, Union, Nassau and Duval counties with Holiday gifts.

The children and families are part of the Early Head Start and Head Start program offered through Episcopal Children’s Services.

Businesses, civic organizations, schools, and individuals may adopt a child, classroom, family, etc. to shop for this Holiday Season. ECS will provide the name of the child, their clothing and shoe sizes, and a general list of gift ideas. All wrapped gifts should be returned to ECS no later than December 10, 2010.

Our Head Start program reaches out to low-income and at-risk children ages four and five and their families. We provide them with comprehensive educational, nutritional, health, and social services, as well as tools and resources to promote their development so they enter kindergarten ready to learn.

Early Head Start provides high-quality educational, nutritional, health and social services to low-income and at-risk children from birth to age three and their families. Our goal is to provide a strong foundation for children entering Head Start and other Pre-K programs.

Episcopal Children’s Services is the largest not for profit child focused organization serving children from birth to age 5 in Northeast Florida. Last year ECS provided services to over 27,000 children in Duval, Clay, Nassau, Baker, Bradford, Union, St. Johns, and Putnam counties.
