FBI Investigating Fast Train College

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation is executing a search warrant at Fast Train College on Jacksonville's Southside.

Jeff Westcott, Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville FBI field office, said the FBI is there serving a search warrant as part of a joint investigation between the United States Department of Education and the FBI.

Westcott said agents arrived shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. They are expecting to be there the majority of the day.

No arrests are planned today, Westcott said. Agents are there to gather evidence.

At this time, the college will not be shut down.

The owner of Fast Train College informed the Commission for Independent Education that the FBI was on the premises, according to Susan Hood of the Florida Department of Education.

Morning classes were canceled, but afternoon classes were supposed to go on as scheduled, Hood said.

Men Charged for Breaking into Local Middle School

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Four Jacksonville men were arrested today after allegedly breaking into Twin Lakes Middle School on Point Meadows Drive.

New Details in Baymeadows Double Shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Homicide investigators from the Jacksonville Sheriff's office are investigating a double shooting in the 8700 block of Harpers Glen Court in Baymeadows.

Police at the scene tell First Coast News neighbors called 911 shortly after 9:30 Friday morning to report hearing gunshots.

When police arrived they found a 64-year-old woman dead inside the home and a 73-year-old male outside with gunshot wounds.  The man was taken to Shands Jacksonville where he died from his injuries.  At this time, police have not released their names.

Police believe they were married.

JSO Sgt. Lonnie Mills said, ""At this time it doesn't appear to be anything that's going to affect the neighborhood, it appears to be a domestic situation."

Clean Out Those Cabinets: Stamp Out Hunger is Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Check your mailbox!  The Stamp Out Hunger food drive is Saturday and letter carriers have been dropping off donation bags at homes all over the First Coast this week.  

This is the 20th year of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Food Drive.  

The donation drive is designed to make giving easy.  All people have to do is put some non-perishable food in a bag and leave it by their mailboxes Saturday.  Postal workers will take the donations and transport them to Second Harvest of North Florida.
